State Funeral

Today was the State Funeral of Ronald Reagan, and naturally I have a lot of
thoughts on the subject.

My first thought is, "Who designed the State Funeral?" This thought is
followed closely by, "What exactly is a State Funeral?" Nobody bothered to
fill us in on this bit of history. I sure as hell didn't learn it in school.
So what gives? Is it that it is a State like our National Identity honoring
someone, or is it that he lies in State, which has a ton of other meanings I
don't want to get into.

Does the military have a special part of it for band members? Do they do
band all day? What about the guy that claps the cymbal-is this his sole
contribution to his country? Do you think the superiors of the pallbearers
told them not to fu@# it up? Do you think any of them were saying, "Don't
drop the 40th President! Don't drop, please." The Marine is thinking to
himself, "This will not drop, not on my watch! God Country Corps Unit HUAY!"
Was the Coast Guard among them? Nope, once again the MEDIA has cleverly and
suspiciously left them out of our week-long history lesson.

I feel like I am watching the new Star Wars Trilogy-there's too many holes.
Tell us who designed the cathedral, or when it was designed. I want to know
why they have howitzers instead of rifles. How much would Reagan's flag sell
on Ebay for?

I wonder what the ex-presidents were thinking. Bush Sr. was probably
thinking, "A damn Iraqi is here! This place is going to hell." Carter was
thinking, "Boy, if I didn't fu@# up my job so bad, I wonder who would have
been here?" Ford was thinking, "I wonder if I qualify for a State Funeral?"
Clinton was thinking, "Man, my State Funeral is going to be so much cooler
than this." GW was thinking.

Like the man, hate the man-Reagan was still our president. We are very
fortunate to have this country, and even though some of you may disagree, we
have done a lot of great things in the last 60 years, a lot to be proud of.
Times are dark right now, but we should still root for the home team.

New Idea

There has been a lot of new activity on the VincentClark Network. We recently launched VincentClark.info, the official biography site for myself. VincentClark Network has also launched, quotes.vincentclark.net and soon will be launching photos.vincentclark.net. I often ask myself the question, Does Michele Eisner have admin rights on his computer at work? Is he allowed to download unsigned active x controls onto his desktop? Does have a desktop or a lap top, would he have both? It is questions like these that keep me up at night. I don't have a real point to that, but to say, how much do we really think. It doesn't take one long to figure out that we are one more trial, one more proposition, one public out cry from screaming out, "That is it, I give up." There is a problem out there, but nobody knows what exactly it is, until now. The problem is simple, we have done it all before. Peterson, sorry but the OJ trial sort of burnt me out of the whole courtroom showdown. That is why I don't even pay attention to the Blake case, sorry, but I just don't know the guy and am a bit perplex to why I should care. Even Iraq, didn't we do that whole Persian Gulf thing about eleven or twelve years back? Watching sitcoms now is only to see how they will put a new spin on the one of twelve plots for the sitcom standard. We have seen it all before. That is why we need something new, something that nobody ever seen or thought of ever. What will that Vince? I don't know, if I did then someone would have already thought about it and then my point would be null and void. All I know is that we will know it when we see it. So this is what we need to do. Act wired. Yes it is a simple solution but there is a bit more to it. We need to keep the world on its toes, starting with one person at a time. That is why you need to tell your boss that you won't come into work if there is a space ship over LA. Of course you might want to modify it a bit and say that you won't come to work if there is a space ship over a city or large town, that way you have all your bases covered. Wear two different shoes to work one day. Put up a web site about you and why people should care. Ask your co-worker for coffee, when she agrees tell her that you are a bit swamped so you can't make it, and then ask her for a vanilla non-fat decaff late'. One day do nothing but sing, then skip gently down the hall singing "I need a hero". Or hear is a novel idea, do something wired on your own, make something up and give that a try. Yea, they will laugh at you, but that will bring us one step closer to finding that new idea. Good Luck and thank you for reading this far, I know for some people that is quite a challenge. Drinking Koolaid

VincentClark Enterprise is please to announce the success of ebay.vincentclark.net. We have also launched our corporate site in its new domain at vincentclark.org. We have also revamped vincentclark.net with a new look and feel. Now it is time for my beef. So I am sitting watching the TV and a commercial comes on. It shows Washington DC, The Lincoln Memorial, Mount Rushmore, the dollar bill, an American flag. Now was this Ford promoting American made products...we should be so lucky to have a home grown company do something that clever. But it was Toyota!!! Did I miss something? Was there a bus I should have took? At what point did we as Americans become sheep? This is almost as bad a Subway using firefighters to peddle their sandwiches. Is it me or does it seem like the men commercial have become babbling buffoons while the smart sheik woman is the hero. Even B commercials are using this ploy. Why do people think that buy buying an Audi somehow they are secrete agents, if you buy an SUV you need to go to obscene places four wheeling. That is exactly what I want to do with my brand new $40,000.00 car. Plus what the hell is a Hemi and why do we need one? Then there is product placement. Some new X Box game appears on an episode of Alias, you bet Perigil Ilacas (of http://ilacas.com, where the magic comes alive) and ten other people will be right there in line when the stores open. Product placement has become the new norm, it is only a matter of time before the commercial goes away and product placement will take its place. I look at everything with suspicion. It is only a matter of time before tagging and roadside marketing become one. Advertisements and self promoting is in every aspect of our live. That is why you should check out the great new buttons on ebay.vincentclark.net. How did we get into this situation? How do we get out? I don't know the answer to that one, but I think my grandfather said it best when he said, "Son, get a sweater--it's cold outside." No marketing ploy in that one, just wholesome entertainment like Disney California Adventure. Thanky you for reading, Vincent Clark

My Concern

The past month VincentClark Enterprise has lunched VincentClark.net. Within the VincentClark.net frame, there will be a writing.vincentclark.net and ebay.vincentclark.net. Unfortunately we can't focus too much on what more needs to be done, which is considerable, but we expect record growth by the end of the first quarter. Now what concerns me. So it is that time of the decade again, people, mainly men, mostly of a Northern European decent, converge to take over the sitting Presidents job. This concerns me a great deal. You see Ford pulled the rest of the troops out of Vietnam, the process started by the guy that he replaced. Other than that Ford was a fairly benign president on the world stage. Then came Carter, no really war under his belt, but he did send American soldiers on foreign soil to free our hostages. He did botch it up, but the effort is noted. Then there was Reagan, defending us from the "Evil Empire." He convinced the American people that we can shoot down nuclear missiles in space. Not satisfied by the frigid cold war, Reagan sought out Guatemala and Honduras as a place to let loose the military that he was building. Then came Bush, called off the cold war, still not satisfied with the sweeping reform of East Germany, he too wanted to bomb a Central American country, so he removed and arrested their leader of Panama after a quick external coup. This was not enough for him, and his prayers were answered when Iraq took over Kuwait. He got more than enough reason to rally the world in one common enemy. After six weeks of bombing he launch a 100 hour ground war. However the economy went south and not even a quick invasion of the famish stricken African nation could get him re-elected. Now comes Clinton, who gave his token bombing of Iraq when he first got the job, he launch attacks against not only Iraq, but Afghanistan, Sudan, and lets not forget the 70 day bombing of Yugoslavia. He bomb four sovereign nations, more than any other President, and he was doing it when he was getting impeached. Bush Jr. comes to the stage with some heavy pressure to out do the guy before him. He thought "Not only am I going to bomb Iraq for non-compliance, but I am going to remove not one, but two governments and occupy their country." And the crazy SOB did. So my concern is, what the hell is the next guy going to do? Will it be the liberation of Greenland? We will have a new President, I am not sure when, but we will, and if history is a guide, we are going to be in for some good television. Thanks for reading, Vincent Clark

State of the Union

As you may of heard by now the President of the United States gave is annual State of the Union address. Naturally I am going to have some issues with this. First of all the way the News handles it, how the press states what is about to happen before it happens? Why is it that the press can quote the speech before it is given. This is like a trailer that shows all the good parts so there is no point in watching the movie. We heard the speech before hand, what all the major points are, what everybody thinks is going to be the reaction when given. So why don't we just ditch the speech and go straight to analyses. The presidents office can just tell a group of reports what they are planning to say, and print it out in the media then it would save all the trouble of hosting the event. You know I wish there was streaker, or something along those lines. Imagine the streaker going out on the stage shouting down with the Fonz. Probably a news report would say, "There was a man that was going to streak but we found him shortly before he could do his stunt." I would be pissed, mainly because I want to see the streaker.
Have a good week VincentClark.com fans.

News at 10

So I am watching TV, then I notice a commercial about the News at ten. They tell me about all this stuff that I need to know. When I visit there website there is no sign of what I need to know to keep my family safe. This is information that we need to know, and need to know now, I can't wait until ten o clock to find out how to protect myself. I need that information at once or I could put someone I care about at risk. What is up with that, I need to protect my friends and family, so why won't they tell me what I need to know right now, why? The show came on and I started not caring about the urgency of what I can do to protect myself. VincentClark.com is doing fine, thanks for asking. Vincent Clark

Reality TV

So I am watching American Idol and I am thinking to myself that I prefer
this, because I can use it as background noise. There is no real reason why
I would stick around and watch the commercials. Does the survey data that
uses about 1,000 people to figure out what America is watching take into
account that there is a percentage of the population that will skip the
commercials?

Just imagine what we could do if we controlled these polls that use a
highly-skilled form of sampling the population. Well, not the people doing
the sampling-forget them. They are just weirdos anyway. I am talking about
the people that are being surveyed. If we figure out who these people are
then we can control them and push our own agenda.

Perhaps this was already done and someone figured out how to manipulate the
market. Perhaps this could explain reality shows and pageants. They must
have been really pissed at their parents and decided to hose the rest of
America.

You know who I blame-besides Gray Davis (Gray Davis drowns puppies)-I blame
the parents. They made us and these are the kinds of depictions and outcomes
that they should have expected from all of their Dr. Spocks and Oprahs
telling them how to raise us.

Yes, if you are a Baby Boomer then I blame you. You should have done a
better job. Now I have to sit through shows like The Swan and The Simple
Life, and there is not a goddamn thing on TV except for reality shows. What
kind of world do we live in when anyone famous puts a camera on them and I
have to sit through it?

Why, Baby Boomers? Why didn't you raise us the way your parents raised you?
Why did you embrace the hippie way? Why? Why do I have to sit through
another reality show? I suppose I could read a book, but why can't I do what
I used to do in the summer and watch reruns? I miss reruns...now it is
syndication. We really need to find those thousand people, don't we?
